Overseas Student Application Guidelines 2011
Application Procedures for Master’s Course in Fire Science & Technology,
Graduate School of Global Fire Science and Technology (Fiscal Year starts on April 1, 2011)
Features of the new graduate school:
○ Lectures are provided during the evening hours (18:00 to 21:10), at Kagurazaka Campus
located in central Tokyo, as convenient to working-students.
○ Experimental exercises and training are held on Saturdays utilizing dedicated large-scale
laboratory facilities in Noda campus.
○ Lectures of compulsory subjects will be given in English to meet international students’ needs.
○ Specialized subjects are excluded from the entrance exam subjects to allow admission of
students with non-science oriented educational background.
【Application procedure for overseas students】
| Application period: | Thursday, 7 October and Thursday, 14 October, 2010 |
| Primary selection: | Application documents are reviewed. |
| Notification of primary selection results: |
For applicants residing outside Japan: notification will be sent to successful applicants by registered airmail on Thursday, 28 October, 2010 |
| For applicants residing in Japan: notification will be sent directly to successful applicants by registered mail on Monday, 29 November, 2010. |

| Secondary selection: | Review shall be carried out based on results of written exams and an interview. |
| Selection dates: | Thursday, 3 February, 2011 |
| Exam subjects: | basic mathematics problems and a short essay based on English questions |
| Language: | English |
| Announcement of results: | Wednesday, 9 February, 2011 |
