The Center places emphasis on human resource development, aiming to nurture young, mature and foreign students who will be equipped with advanced knowledge and know-how of fire safety engineering through attending lectures on theoretical acquisition and conducting practical experiments in the full-scale test laboratory. The Center will also actively support the training of young researchers.
Markedly Improving Academic and Research Leadership Skills
- Establishing a Graduate Course for Fire Science
The current system which is decentrally organized in relation to the applicable study areas will be reformed to a centrally organized education system. - Supporting the building of a career path
A special curriculum will be provided for fire prevention specialists such as firefighters, police investigators (forensics experts), property loss appraisers, and fire prevention engineers.
Enhancing Support for Researchers (Financial Aid)
- Providing strategic support for graduate students
The COE-RA system will be available to any graduate student on the COE’s doctoral course in Fire Science. - Nurturing the independence of young researchers
COE research fellowship support (research grants) will be available to young teachers and researchers including graduate students on the doctoral course in efforts to encourage research associated with their research project.
Supporting the International Exchange Program
- Facilitating personnel exchange
Invitations to well-known researchers, international seminars/symposiums and exchange programs will create an environment promoting exchange with a greater number of East Asian research institutes. - Facilitating research exchange
Through the research opportunities undertaken in collaboration with academic partners, young researchers can acquire and develop international acumen.
